5 Tips for Your Dream Camping Trip

Camping is an alternative and inexpensive way to relax and to enjoy nature. Whether you stay in a cabin, RV or tent, camping has amazing health, mental, physical and social benefits! Studies have shown that being close to nature makes your mental and physical health better, you start to appreciate nature and surroundings, boosts your self-esteem and inner strength (putting up the tent, starting a fire, cooking a meal are challenges you need to overcome!). But, sometimes, bad weather, being eaten alive by bugs, taking too much stuff and having to carry an unnecessarily heavy backpack can decrease the joy that you could have experienced during your camping time. So we have listed for you 5 tips that will make your camping a relaxing one!

1. Pack light

Pack simple! Take all the necessary accessories you will need. A tent is the first camping essential if you want to be protected from the wind, rain or sunlight. Grab a tarp as well. A tarp is a perfect tool for covering something you don't want to get wet. Don't forget thermals and waterproof rainwear. Take good lightning, because you won't be able to do anything in the dark. Keep supplies in a well-marked, durable, waterproof container and keep all your items organized. And if you forget something, don't worry. You won't make the same mistake next time.

2. Camp close to your house

You don't have to drive far away to feel far away. A family campout, not a miles away will be a really memorable experience. You feel more confident and safe, thus making your spontaneous camping trips more frequent.

3. Organise a short trip

You need to plan and pack much more if you want to go on a longer camping trip. Even if you are camping for one night or two, you will anyway have the feeling of being close to nature and the chance to see breathtaking views. Short camping trips are easy on the wallet and you won't manage to get tired.

4. Read up

Read instructions for your equipment beforehand. Trying your equipment out in advance, in the comfort of your home is really important.

Read about the area you are heading to! Are there poisonous plants, animals or insects there? Pack your first-aid kit properly ( mosquito repellent, pills for a headache, etc.). I am sure, you don't want to be caught helpless far away from home.

5. Get Prepared for Anything!

Last but not least. Get ready for anything. Tell your family and friends where you are going and how long it will take. Take some money with you in case of emergency. Grab some disinfectant wipes in order to prevent any bacteria from spreading, some good tarp in order to stay safe from rain and wind.

Final Words

If you are an adventurous soul, camping is definitely for you. It does not need to be complicated. You get the chance to overcome your fear of outdoor activities. You just make fire, sleep outside, ride, hunt and have fun-a perfect holiday to feel fresh and healthy. Here is the checklist of the essential items you need to take with you for your stress- free camping.
